Anthony Downing

Lead Apostle

Pastors Anthony and Jonthan Downing, Sr. reside in Edenton, NC. They are the founders and Lead-Pastors of Shalom International Church, where they have shepherded for fifteen years. Shalom is an interdenominational church, that impacts local government, the state, and global entities. Anthony and Jonthan both travel globally together spreading the Good News of the kingdom of God.

Pastors Anthony and Jonthan are the founders and CEOs of an Outreach Ministry entitled Mentees-In-Motion. Mentees-In-Motion is diligent in contributing to the social and economic development of their community in a collaborative effort. It is with the formulation of local and surrounding partnerships this vigorous approach promotes the contentment of every citizen of Chowan County and its surrounding communities to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for people returning from state and federal prisons, local jails, and juvenile facilities. With this intentional endeavor, they exceed their local area to penetrate our nation and ultimately the world.

Out of this ministry came “The Wailing Women’s Family Life Conference.” This conference was birthed out of the Womb of God and called forth to materialize for such a time as this. The call for "skilled men and women" to pray is the cry of the Holy Spirit with groanings made by the Holy Spirit to bring the mind of God to His people in this day. It is birthed out of a relationship with God and prepares and develops women and men of all ages for a fresh move and Word from God. It equips them to wail or take up a lamentation, and be prepared for the next level, groaned forth by the Spirit!

Having founded “Downing Evangelistic Ministries” the couple travel across geographical borders for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, and empowering leaders to fulfill the call of God on their lives until we all attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God as we embrace mature manhood to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

In addition to preaching the Gospel they both serve on various boards in their community such as the Educational Foundation and Edenton United, Colonial Village. Jonthan also serves on the Board of Fellowship of Prophetic Churches and Ministries with their overseer Dr. Decker Tapscott Sr. She is also Chaplain of her area Football Team as well as Chaplain for the Edenton Police Department. Lastly, called upon by the fathers of the city, they partner with their local city government by planning, leading, and Chowan County’s annual Juneteenth Celebration where peoples of all walks of life come to celebrate, honor, educate, energize and reflect past, present, and future contributions to our world.

Anthony and Jonthan both had the privilege of traveling for missions to Israel where together they had the honor of ministering the Word of God in Jerusalem. They now pastor a church in Kenya, Africa where they will travel for a weeklong Revival. They minister in many churches locally as well as abroad. They often find themselves seated at the round table helping with the decision making when providing for local and surrounding cities.
